The equipment was purchased through an under spend generated in the SELB’s Youth Engagement programmes. The consortium successfully applied for the grant and in association with the two groups purchased the equipment and costumes

SPRING is based in Mullacreevie and work with young people engaging them through programmes, outreach and drop-in at their premises. ABCE are a group who cater to the Bulgarian member of our community. They are currently looking for a permanent base but in the interim operate out of Dobbin St Community Centre and St.Vincents in Chapel Lane.

Speaking on behalf of SPRING Roma Carlisle welcomed the office equipment saying that it will assist them in the administrating of the programmes that SPRING are involved in. She added ‘people sometimes are not aware of just how expensive office equipment and IT accessories can be so the assistance is very welcome.

Speaking for ABCE Valentina Stefanova also welcomed the grant citing that the traditional costumes will be very much appreciated along with the Bulgarian books that will be used in the Bulgarian school locate in St.Vincents. ’Traditional costumes have to be ordered from home, she added, which increases the cost. In particular the costumes provided by the consortium are very much in demand and will greatly assist in the preserving and teaching of Bulgarian dance and culture.’
